multiply equation 1 by 4 and equation 2 by 3
(3x+5y=11)(4)
12x +20y =44
(4x+4y=10)(3)
12x +12y = 30
Subtract the 2 equations
(12x +20y =44) - (12x +12y = 30)
> 8y= 14
y = $1.75
Substotute to equation 1
3x +5y = 11
3x + 5(1.75) = 11
3x + 8.75 = 11
3x = 11-8.75
3x = 2.25
x = $0.75
therefore milk ia $0.75 per liter and a loaf of bread is $1.75
